READ ONLINE SAMPLE
Officially, this book is categorized as a memoir. But it will appear as something else depending on the nature and intention of the reader. (call it a Quantum Book!) Yes, the story may appear as a somewhat curious memoir, or perhaps as a novel, or as a book of reflections and inspiration. It has been described as a page-turner, a nightstand fixture, a personal journey companion, and a hell of a story.

The Story In The Book

A Splendid Mess is the story of how I moved across the continent in the summer of 2011 because I heard a whisper telling me I ought to if I wanted to find my truth and fulfillment. The catch was that despite being a 46 years old accomplished woman, if I was foolhardy enough to listen, I would have to do this without a penny to my name. Such was my precarious reality. Furthermore, managing a temperamental health had also been a reality for the past decades — an additional challenge upping the ante.

Staring down my fears, I eventually did pack my bags (and boxes and car) while reluctantly venturing into the world of credit because I could not shake the feeling that salvation laid in the invitation of the whisper.

Upon arriving to the West Coast my priority was to find work, obviously. But then I got sicker, was confined at home, and once again had to come to the disconcerting realization that I was unable to work. This is when I decided to begin chronicling my experience, day after day, telling the story of trying to stay centered, of teetering to and fro, of believing moving had not been a mistake, of fearing it was, of being graced with illuminations then forgetting them, and of standing strong only to be tumbled over by doubt.

This is, after all, how it goes for most of us on the path of life: one day we are enlightened masters, the next, novices in the matter. Permanent illumination is the lot of only a select few.

What began as journaling turned into an intimate (and humorous) memoir 15 years in the making.
With this book, I found what I came looking for: my truth, purpose and fulfillment.

Nothing would ever be the same.
