THE SOUTHWESTERN SERIES 2007-2009
[pastel paintings]
In 2007, after a 14-year hiatus form my art, I expressed myself again through a new series presenting an apparent total opposition to the preceding one: from photorealistic black and white installation-drawings to impressionistic, intuitive, colorful, intimate pastels — an anticipated but unexpected deliciously reactionary reversal; a volte-face 'à la Kid Rock', from rap to the country ballad!
This series is not only a testimony to my personal journey but to my belief that there are few boundaries that can't be crossed.
Prints: [approx.] 14" X 18" (plus white border)
Original: [approx.] 11" X 14"

*WHAT IS A GICLÉE?
A 'giclée' is the result of a process of making fine art prints from a digital source using archival quality ink-jet printing. The quality of the giclee print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries. The giclee is highly precise and reproduces the original artwork with outstanding accuracy. You will not find any dot patterns or other undesired marks of reproduction on such prints.
